NEED TO KNOW
Score: Life U 49, St. Thomas 7

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Life University men's rugby team delivered a dominant road performance this weekend, defeating St. Thomas 49-7 in Miami Gardens. The Running Eagles controlled the match from the opening minutes, building steady momentum with efficient attacking play and a strong defensive effort that kept the hosts largely contained.

Life wasted little time getting on the scoreboard. James Rose crossed for the opening try in the 7th minute, with Jonty Lee adding the conversion to give the Running Eagles an early 7-0 lead.

The pressure continued to build as Life's attack found rhythm through multiple phases. Aidan Stewart added another try in the 33rd minute, again converted by Lee, before Joshua Spence finished off another scoring opportunity just minutes later to push the advantage further.

Life carried that momentum into the second half. Kade Cunningham opened the scoring after the break with a try in the 42nd minute, and Lee remained perfect from the tee to keep the scoreboard moving. Later in the half, Shaun Matthysen added another try to extend the lead as the Running Eagles continued to control possession and field position.

Rose added his second try of the match earlier in the first half, while Zander Basson capped the scoring late in the contest with a try in the 74th minute to seal the 49-7 result.

St. Thomas managed its lone try late in the match, but Life's defensive structure held firm throughout the contest, limiting scoring chances and forcing the hosts to play from deep in their own half for much of the game.

With the win, the Running Eagles put together one of their most complete performances of the season, combining efficient finishing with disciplined defense in a convincing road victory.
