Score: Life 45, Davenport 19
Grand Rapids, Mich. – The Life University men's rugby team delivered a dominant road performance, shutting down Davenport 45–19 behind a balanced attack and a strong defensive effort.
The Running Eagles wasted no time getting on the board, as Bautista Araujo crossed for the opening try in the 5th minute to give the Life an early advantage. The momentum continued throughout the first half with Zander Basson adding a try in the 14th minute, followed by Nahuel Wingord, who powered over twice with scores in the 22nd and 34th minutes to stretch the lead.
Accurate kicking helped extend the margin, with Jonty Lee converting multiple early tries to keep the scoreboard moving in Life's favor. By halftime, the Running Eagles had firmly established control of the match.
The second half brought more of the same pressure from Life. Logan Ballinger added another try in the 58th minute, pushing the lead further out of reach before the Running Eagles closed strong late.
In the final minutes, Leo Venables broke through for a try in the 78th minute, and Joshua Spence capped the night with a try in the 80th minute while also adding late conversions to round out the scoring.
Defensively, Life was just as impressive on the road, holding Davenport to just 19 points.
