Women's Rugby Crushes Stanford 125-7 in Semifinal Matchup

03.30.26

Pal Alto, Calif. -- The Life University women's rugby team produced a breathtaking & dominating performance in the CRAA Women's D1 semi-final on March 29, 2026, defeating Stanford 125-7 at Steuber Rugby Stadium in Palo Alto.

The Running Eagles entered the semi-final as the #1 seed and delivered a dominant display from the first whistle, playing with pace, precision, and relentless attacking intent. Life controlled possession and territory throughout, recycled the ball quickly through sharp rucks, and showed excellent clinical finishing inside the 22m.

They crossed the line for 19 tries in total. Angelina Mason led the way with two tries and was near-perfect off the tee with 15 successful conversions. Azhinaye Barner scored four, Amenekina Latu crossed for three, Christina Opeti added two, while Hallie Fewless, Dorothy Vunipola, Lissa Sailsbury, Olivia Frisby, Ariel Chalmers, Liberty Benitez, and Danie Taulua all got on the scoresheet.

Director of Women's Rugby Ryszard Chadwick captured the team's mood perfectly: "We were relentless on attack. We had a total of a 90% conversion rate once entering the 22 coming out with a 6-point return for every 22 visit which is just ridiculous. What a performance. I know most people will say this is a crazy scoreline for a semifinal but I want to make sure people do not discredit how hard they players have been working to be able to produce these kind of results."

This result sends Life University into the CRAA National Championship final on April 11 in Sacramento.

A big thank you to all the supporters who backed the team today, whether in California or watching from afar. Your energy means a lot as we chase the title.
The squad now has two weeks to prepare for the national final. This group continues to show high standards and a real desire for excellence. We're excited for one final push.
