2025-26 COMPETITIVE CHEER SEASON RECAP

  • The Life University Competitive Cheer program competed in a trio of regular season events this year, wrapping up the season with a trip to Daytona and competing at NCA Nationals where the nation’s top college teams collide in unforgettable competition.
  • The team recorded four SSAC All-Conference members, highlighted by Victoria Crouchet's SSAC Scholar-Athlete Team placement.

SEASON HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Life University Competitive Cheer team hosted the Life U Cheer Classic and turned in a strong two-round performance against a competitive field over the weekend in the Eagles' Nest.
  • In the first round, the Running Eagles placed third overall with a score of 86.65. SSAC foe, the University of Tennessee Southern, led the field with an 87.80, followed by Florida Memorial University at 86.67. Life finished just .02 behind Florida Memorial, highlighting how tight the top three standings were. 
  • Once again near the top of the standings in round two, the Running Eagles posted an improved score of 86.75. The University of Tennessee Southern once again claimed the top spot with a 90.25, while Loyola (85.58), William Carey (77.70), and Brewton-Parker (69.38) all followed Life in the standings.

Life U Classic Recap

  • Life opened the weekend Friday at the SSAC Roundups, finishing third out of seven teams in the second round with a score of 82.07. The Running Eagles placed just ahead of Brewton-Parker (82.03) and behind only Xavier University of Louisiana (90.43) and University of Mobile (90.30) in the final regular-season conference competition.

Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament

  • The Running Eagles returned to the mat the day after the SSAC Roundups for the 2026 SSAC Competitive Cheer Championship, earning a strong final score of 85.85 to finish sixth out of nine teams in a super competitive field that saw seven programs eclipse the 80-point mark.
  • Xavier claimed the conference title with a score of 97.95, securing the SSAC's automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship later this month.
  • Life also saw several student-athletes recognized in the conference postseason awards. Ben Fernandez, Savana Palos, Sydney Palos, and Victoria Crouchet were all named to the SSAC All-Conference Team for their performances during the season.
  • After the tournament, the team also saw Victoria Crouchet earn a spot on the coveted SSAC Scholar-Athlete Team. 
  • Competitive Cheer brings home third at National Cheerleaders Association's prestigious event.
