2025 WOMEN'S SOCCER SEASON RECAP

  • The Life University Women's Soccer program posted an 18-3-1 record overall and went 9-1 in SSAC play.
  • The team went on to an NAIA National Tournament berth, beating Tennessee Wesleyan 3-1 in the Second Round to advance to the Final Site in Pensacola, Fla.
  • The team boasted 3 conference Athletes of the Year, 9 All-SSAC honorees, 4 SSAC All-Tournament team members and Head Coach Meg McGonigle was named the 2025 SSAC Coach of the Year.

SEASON HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Life University women's soccer program picked up back-to-back ranked wins on the road over #16 UT Southern and #12 Cumberland.
  • First, against #16 UT Southern, a pair of late goals from Sasha Millward proved pivotal as Life U battled the elements and the opponents for a 3-1 victory.
  • Then, just three days later, the Running Eagles once again picked up a 3-1 win, courtesy of first-half goals from Kayla McMillian and Helen Gutierrez.

  • The Life University women's soccer program earned a host bid following a dominant regular season.
  • The team earned the #12 seed overall in the NAIA Tournament, hosting Tennessee Wesleyan for Round 2 of the National Tournament.
  • Life U claimed a 2-0 win over the Bulldogs to advance to the final site in Pensacola, Fla. for the Round of 16.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS

  • The Life University Women's Soccer team was well honored at the 2025 SSAC Soccer Banquet.
  • Sacha Millward took home the SSAC Golden Boot while Helen Gutierrez was honored as the SSAC Newcomer of the Year. Elora Niederpruem earned SSAC Freshman of the Year while Head Coach Meg McGonigle was awarded SSAC Coach of the Year.
  • The team also had 9 All-Conference Honorees:
    • First Team: Sasha Millward, Helen Gutierrez, Ana Diaz, Lilja Olafsdottir, Marey Helgadottir and Elora Niederpruem.
    • Second Team: Phoenix Parks, Faith Martin, and Nellie Pedersen.
  • Following the SSAC Tournament, Life U saw four student-athletes named to the All-Tournament team;
    • Lilja Olafsdottir, Sacha Millward, Ana Diaz and Victoria Valles.
