Process:
In order to formally recognize and pay tribute to outstanding former student-athletes, coaches and other individuals who have contributed to the tradition and success of the Life University Athletic Department and who, through the years, continued to demonstrate in their daily lives core values learned in intercollegiate athletics, the Life University Athletic Hall of Fame was established.
 
 
Article I: Membership
 
A. Individuals: Hall of Fame inductees may include student-athletes, coaches, or administrators who have been nominated and meet eligibility criteria.
B. Teams: Teams that are exceptionally distinguished through outstanding achievement or significant accomplishment may also be considered.
 

Article II: Committee
 
A. Membership
The Hall of Fame Screening Committee shall consist of five members whose duty shall be to prepare and present a ballot to vote for those identified as an eligible candidate. Once the ballot has been determined, the Screening Committee assumes the responsibility of investigating that each athlete has been a responsible citizen according to the high ideals of intercollegiate athletics. 
 
The Screening Committee shall by comprised of:
  • Director of Athletics
  • Sports Information Director
  • Director of Alumni Relations (or representative)
  • One current member of the Life University staff chosen at the discretion of the Director of Athletics
 
Article III: Nominations
 
A. Nomination Form
Nominations must be on the appropriate form and should be supported by accurate and specific information, including justification for induction. Self-nominations or unsigned/anonymous nominations will not be accepted.
 
B. Deadline for Nominations
Nominations should be submitted by the stated deadline to be considered for that year's class of inductees.
 

Article IV: Eligibility
 
A. Eligibility of Alumni
1. An alumnus is eligible for nomination at any time beginning five years after graduating from Life University. The Athletic Hall of Fame Committee may use its discretion in exceptional/extraordinary circumstances for non-graduates of the college.
 
2. A student-athlete must be at least a First Team All-Conference and/or All-District/All-Region selection. All-Americans and National Champions are automatically eligible for consideration.  
 
B. Eligibility of Coaches/Administrators
1. Coaches and administrators who are not Life University alumni shall be eligible beginning five years after leaving the department. Coaches and administrators shall be eligible based on accomplishments or contributions to the program.
 
C. Eligibility of Teams
1. Teams that are exceptionally distinguished through outstanding achievement or significant accomplishment may also be considered.
 
D. Special Notes
1. The honor can be voted posthumously.
2. Athletic Hall of Fame Committee members shall not be eligible for selection during his/her term.
 
 
 
Article V: Selection of Inductees
  
A. To earn selection into the Athletic Hall of Fame, a nominee must receive a vote from two-thirds of the selection committee.
 
B. In any given year, the Athletic Hall of Fame Committee is not required to select members for induction.
 
C. Generally an induction class will not exceed five inductees. 
 
D. Once presented as an eligible nominee, an unsuccessful candidate shall be automatically reconsidered annually until he/she has been considered three consecutive calendar years.  At that point the individual must be re-nominated.
 
 
Article VI: Induction Ceremony
 
A. A perpetual "Hall of Fame" display containing the names and accomplishments of inducted members of the Athletic Hall of Fame will be maintained by the Athletic Department.
 
B. An Athletic Hall of Fame plaque will be given to each inductee at the induction ceremony.
