In service to the vision of Life University Athletics, which is to be a leading institution in performance and meaningful student-athlete experience, More Than An Athlete (MTAA) is about student-facing areas associated with physical, mental, and nutritional health & wellness and student-athlete engagement.Â
Â
The department of athletics will bring awareness to these opportunities by working closely with campus partners to collaboratively create opportunities and build connections. Participation in these MTAA-approved events will further enhance the development of SAs that extend beyond their time at Life University.Â
Â
MTAA addresses the most commonly-stated needs and interests of SAs, not just at Life, but nationally. We have grouped those needs into several areas under which programming and opportunities will fall:
- Health & Wellness
- Physical – Sports Chiro / non-sport activity
- Mental - counseling / workshops / accessibility to a menu of these workshops
- Nutritional – Fuel station (with educational resources) / team talks / Sports Medicine / Body composition
- Student Engagement
- Academic Support Opportunities
- Campus events
- Community events & service
- Professional development
Â
Life University invests in its student-athletes off the field/court/pool/mat/track. We understand that the student-athlete environment is challenging. However, we strive to help make their student-athlete experience meaningful through our MTAA program.
