Life University Athletics

Dr. William Green currently serves as the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Life University, bringing over a decade of experience in coaching, athletic administration, and student development. He previously served as Assistant Athletic Director and Men's Assistant Basketball Coach at Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO), where Athletic Director Mr. James Matthews described him as “bringing a wealth of knowledge with dealing with students, coaching, and being in athletic administration.”

While at SUNO, Dr. Green managed a wide range of responsibilities, including team travel coordination, scouting, practice scheduling, budget oversight, coach evaluations, eligibility and compliance, and academic monitoring. He also played a key role in faculty and staff engagement, while leading the planning and execution of athletic events across all sports.

In May 2025, Dr. Green earned his Doctorate in Sports and Athletic Management, further strengthening his leadership and operational acumen in collegiate athletics. From 2012 to 2017, he served as an Assistant Coach for Xavier University of Louisiana’s Women’s Basketball program, helping guide the team to two championships. He also brings four years of high school coaching experience and six years as a classroom teacher, demonstrating his lifelong commitment to student-athlete success on and off the court.
