Haynes returns to the coaching staff for his third season with Life University in the Fall of 2022, after helping the team clinch its first ever national championship in his first year with the program.That title standing as the eighth NAIA National Championship team that he has been a part of.

Prior to landing at Life U, Haynes was an assistant coach at Grand View for seven seasons, taking part in seven NAIA Team National Championships and seven NWCA National Duals Championships. During his tenure at Grand View, he helped the team maintain an undefeated dual meet record for all seven seasons.

Before his coaching success, Haynes was successful on the mat, becoming a rare four-time All-American for Grand View as a student-athlete. His top finishes included a third-place in 2014 and fourth in 2013.
