Nickolas Pope joined the Life University Sports Information staff in October 2022, serving as the Sports Information Director. In this role, Pope oversees a full-time assistant along with graduate assistants, interns and a student-work staff. The Sports Information Department is responsible for all home event game management, statistics, website management and social media platforms across Life University Athletics.
During his tenure, Pope has provided coverage for some of the most decorated seasons in Running Eagles history, documenting 36 individual national champions, 13 team national championships, 243 All-American honors, and 18 team conference championships across multiple programs. Additionally, Pope has served as a National Player of the Week voter for the NAIA.
Before his arrival at Life University, Pope served as an Athletic Communications Assistant at fellow NAIA institution Thomas University. He later stepped into the role of Interim Sports Information Director in Fall 2022. During his time in Thomasville, he handled media coverage for Men’s Soccer, Women’s Basketball, and Softball, providing written content, statistical reporting, and digital coverage for Night Hawk Athletics.
Pope’s foundation in collegiate athletics communications began at NCAA Division III Piedmont University, where he worked as a student intern under the mentorship of distinguished professional Danielle Percival. At Piedmont, he helped produce live broadcasts for the "Mane Event Broadcasting Network" and served as a play-by-play commentator. He also contributed extensively to written content, including game recaps, athlete features, and department-wide storytelling initiatives.
A former collegiate student-athlete himself, Pope was a standout defender on the Piedmont Men’s Soccer team, earning USA South All-Conference honors and multiple Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
Pope holds a Bachelor of Arts in both Sports Communications and Mass Communications with a Minor in Spanish from Piedmont University. He earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Thomas University in Spring 2023.
