Life University standout rugby player Cameron "Cam" Dolan has signed a contract to play professional rugby with the Northampton Saints, one of 12 English rugby teams that make up the elite Aviva Premiership - the highest league within the English rugby system.
Dolan, who will soon graduate from Life University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, was a four-time All-American for the Running Eagles and one of a handful of players who was a member of LIFE's inaugural undergraduate recruiting class in 2009. His senior year was capped in fitting fashion as the team captured the Division 1A national championship this past May. Dolan has also played for the U.S. National Rugby Team, earning his first start in June, and has been a top performer during the recent fall tour of North America and Europe. His performances over the past few months caught the attention of several top professional clubs.

Said Dolan of the signing, "It has always been a goal of mine to play professionally, ever since I started playing rugby in high school. To be offered a contract by one of the best clubs in England is a real honor, and I look forward to the opportunity to learn, develop and contribute toward Northampton reaching their goals as well."
LIFE's Director of Rugby Dan Payne said, "Cam has worked hard and continued to develop since he first stepped on campus. This will be both a tremendous opportunity and challenge for him. It's exactly what he needs to help him continue to improve as a player."
Northampton Saints is a club with a long and storied history, enjoying recent success in the Aviva Premiership, domestic cup competition, and in the exclusive continental competition. Said Payne, "Northampton is a great club for Cam to continue his rugby development. The coaching staff, the current players, and the atmosphere of success will assist him greatly. We're happy for his parents, his teammates and the program. This is a great opportunity. He must now put the work in to make it a great career."
Life University's undergraduate rugby program continues to stake its claim as one of the premier programs in the country. In addition to being Division 1A National Champions in 2013, the program has annually produced collegiate All-Americans and U.S. National Team players. Cam Dolan is the first student-athlete from the program to sign a professional contract.
