WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – Life University (4-7, 1-2 MSC) fell to Cumberlands (6-6, 2-1 MSC) on Friday.
Â
"This was a game of two halves," Head Coach
Sam Clark said. "We struggled to understand a different style of play in the first half. By the second half, we made a few adjustments and really started to battle. For a young team to catch the opposition offside 16 times, that shows a tremendous ability to learn. We just need to show consistency for 90 minutes."
Â
The Running Eagles were outshot 15-7, with 10 shots on goal compared to just two.
Pien van Kampen suffered the loss in the goal allowing two goals with one save.
Â
The Patriots got things started early as they found the back on the net at 10' for the night's first goal. They would score again at 27' to take a 2-0 lead. With a third goal at 36', Cumberlands took a 2-0 lead into the half.
Â
The second half was bit more defensive in the early goings. However, the Patriots padded their lead with a goal at 63'. They would score their final goal at 85' and take the win 5-0.

The Running Eagles are back in action on Oct. 14 as they return home to face Campbellsville.
