Life U Swept By Top-Ranked Lindsey Wilson In MSC Tourney Semifinals

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – After knocking off Cumberlands in the quarterfinals, Life University (18-14) fell in three sets (11-25, 9-25, 13-25) to No. 1 Lindsey Wilson (27-0) in the semifinals of the Mid-South Conference Tournament on Friday.

"It was a tough way to end the season, but Lindsey Wilson is No. 1 in the country for a reason; they don't make mistakes," Assistant Coach Tim Walenga said. "We are proud of our team for the way they played this season, and they had some high quality wins. It was a good season and the staff is sad to see the season end."

First Team All-MSC junior Liz Mann led the squad with 11 kills and eight digs. Sophomore Amber Harris contributed 18 assists with two digs and a block.

The Running Eagles were behind the eight ball out of the gate as Lindsey Wilson open the first set on a 13-4 run. Life U never could recover and eventually lost the set 25-11.

The second set was all Lindsey Wilson again as they put together several extend runs. The Running Eagles tried to make it competitive early, only being down 6-3. However, a 13-2 run by the Blue Raiders ended any shot Life U had in the set. LWC won the set 25-9.

The Blue Raiders continued to be the better team in the third and final as a 14-1 run early put them up 17-4. The Running Eagles attempted to make it a game, and cut the lead to 10 points at 23-13. However, Lindsey Wilson won the set and the match with a 25-13 decision.
