MCKENZIE, TENN. – Life University (4-4) fell to Bethel (5-3) 74-46 on Saturday.
Sophomore
Tierra Lindsey paced the squad with 14 points, as well as six rebounds and four steals. Senior
Kennesha Nichols logged a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, in addition to two steals and a block. Sophomore
Kayla Kelly contributed 10 points, five rebounds, two assists and a steal.
The Running Eagles fell behind early in the game and were never able to recover. Bethel opened on a 9-4 run, and extended it to a 17-5 lead with 3:50 left in the quarter. They would close out the quarter with a 22-9 lead.
BU pushed their lead out to 18 to start quarter at 27-9. The lead remained at double-digits, despite Life U's multiple attempts to trim it to a more manageable deficit. Bethel took a 40-25 lead into the half.
The second half featured more of the same, with the Running Eagles unable to gain much, if any, traction to cut the lead. BU held a 57-40 lead heading into the final period. The fourth quarter was even more unkind to the road team, as Bethel pushed its lead out to 20-plus. They eventually took a 74-46 victory.
Life U is back in action on Saturday, Nov. 25 as they welcome Morris College to Eagles' Nest.
