PIKEVILLE, Ky. – Life University (17-14, 5-10 MSC) fell 3-1 (21-25, 25-17, 20-25, 19-25) in the regular season finale to Pikeville (10-20, 2-12 MSC) on Saturday.

Junior
Liz Mann led the Running Eagles with 19 kills, as well as nine digs, an assist and an ace. Junior
Zykeria Allen posted nine kills, four digs and two blocks. Sophomore
Amber Harris contributed a double-double with a career-high of 37 assists in four sets and 10 digs, as well as three blocks.

Life U looked good as the opening set began, with a 6-3 lead early. However, Pikeville rallied with an 8-2 run to take a 12-9 lead. From there, they didn't trail for the remainder of the set. The Running Eagles attempted to comeback, cutting the lead to 21-20, but ultimately fell 25-21 in the frame.

In the second set, Life U seemed to have their legs under them and never trailed in the set, opening on a 5-2 run. The led by as much as eight at 21-13, and took the frame 25-17.

The third set was very volatile with both teams ripping off large runs. The Bears got it started with a 7-1 run to take a 7-3 lead early. The Running Eagles were not phased as they went on a 7-1 run of their own to take a 12-9 lead. The runs were not over, as Pikeville went on a 7-2 run to retake the lead 16-14. The Bears finished on a 7-3 run to take the set 25-20.

The fourth and final set played out much like the first with Life U taking an early 5-2 lead. Pikeville would take the lead to stay at 7-6. They would take their largest lead of the frame at 17-8. Life U kept battling though and managed to cut the lead to 23-19. Unfortunately, they were unable to complete the comeback as the Bears won the set and the match with a 25-19 decision.

Life U will be back in action as they travel to Bowling Green, Ky. to compete in the Mid-South Conference Tournament on Thursday, Nov. 9.
