MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Life U volleyball (0-1) fell to Webber International (1-0) in three sets (25-17, 25-15, 25-9) in the opening match of the Faulkner Invitational on Friday.

Liz Mann led the squad with seven kills and 11 digs, as well as a service ace. Junior
Zykeria Allen contributed five kills and a dig. Junior Gaby Ferran posted 10 digs and an ace.

The Running Eagles got off to a slow start as WIU open the first set on a 4-0 run. They began chipping away at the lead at pulled within one point at 9-8, the closest margin of the set. Webber International, however, overpowered Life U by stringing together multiple runs of three and four points. WIU took the first set 25-17.

The second set was not much different as the Running Eagles fell behind early and could not match the runs by Webber International. The squad got as close as two points at 7-5, but WIU took the set 25-15.

Things did not get better coming out the break as Webber International went on two runs of five points and one run of eight points to put away Life U 25-9, and take the match 3-0.

The Running Eagles are back in action later today as they face off against Southeastern University in the Faulkner Invitational.
