WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Life University volleyball (9-1) completed the sweep with a win in straight sets (25-14, 25-16, 25-16) over Truett-McConnell (0-2) on the first day of the 2017 Labor Day Volleyfest. The Running Eagles have now won nine-straight.

As has been the trend this season, junior
Liz Mann led the squad with 12 kills, six aces, four digs and an assist. Junior
Chelsea Hill followed closely behind with nine kills and a dig. Junior Gaby Ferrán added 14 digs, three aces and three assists. Junior
Miriam Goodfriend contributed 20 assists, an ace, a block and two digs.

Life U started red hot out of the gate, opening the first set on a 4-0 run. They never looked back and led by as much as 11 points, and took the set 25-14.

The second frame was more tightly contested early on, with both teams points to start the set. The Running Eagles began to separate themselves at 12-8 and took control of the set. They eventually claimed the set 25-16.

The squad continued to roll in the final set as they opened on a 7-1 run. Truett-McConnell was unable to find an answer to the Running Eagles' runs, with Life U claiming the set and the match with a 25-16 decision.

The Running Eagles are back in action tomorrow as they face off against Keiser and Kansas Wesleyan on the final day of the Labor Day Volleyfest.
