WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Life U volleyball (8-1) opened the 2017 Labor Day Volleyfest with a win over St. Andrews in straight sets (25-17, 25-23, 25-20). The Running Eagles have now won eight-straight matches.

Junior
Liz Mann paced the squad with her second-straight double-double with 15 kills and 11 digs, including a season-high 7 aces and a block. Junior
Zykeria Allen followed shortly behind with 11 kills as well as four digs and a block. Junior Gaby Ferrán contributed 18 digs and two aces. Junior
Miriam Goodfriend added 36 assists, six digs and two aces.

Life U started a little slow out the gate falling behind by as much as 6-3 early in the set. However, they rebounded and eventually went on a run to take a 14-10 lead. From there, they took control of the frame and never looked back. They took the set 25-17.

The Running Eagles continued to use the momentum from the first set to go on a 9-2 run to start the second frame. In a set that never saw them trail, they took it with a 25-23 decision.

The third and final set was much more tightly contested that the previous set, with both teams trading points early. Life U managed to gain some distance with a 14-9 lead, and dominated the rest of the match. They ended up taking the set and the match with a 25-20 decision.

The Running Eagles are back in action this evening as they face off against Truett-McConnell.
