MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life University men's soccer team earned its second shutout of the season with a 7-0 Mid-South Conference victory over Georgetown College at home Sunday afternoon.
NOTES
• Life U improved to 5-7-1 (1-1-0) on the year, while Georgetown fell to 7-7-0 (0-3-0).
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
•
Thierry Jules led the way for the Life U with six total shots and five on frame with a goal and an assist. He has scored or assisted in six of the teams last seven matches.
•
Martin Cortes added an assist with five total shots and put four on frame, as
Steinar Magnusson also tallied five shots with a goal.
•
Javi Romero scored and added an assist as
Ahmad Saidy and
Ricardo Lawrence each scored as well.
Jacob Bivens scored his second goal in as many matches and added an assist.
•
Sergio Sereeira scored his third goal of the year with an assist as well.
Eddy Diaz and
Marcus Velasquez each added an assist as well.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Life U came out with six shots on frame in the first 11 minutes of the match as Magnusson scored in the 19
thminute with the assist from Sereeira to put the Running Eagles ahead 1-0.
• Bivens scored ten minutes later with an assist from Jules and Cortes for a 2-0 lead with Sereeira scoring in the 33
rdminute to put Life U ahead 3-0.
• The Running Eagles led 3-0 at the half, as they outshot the Tigers 16-2 in the first 45.
• Jules scored on a Diaz assist in the 61
stwith Saidy scoring in the 72
ndon the assist from Romero to put Life U ahead 5-0.
• Lawrence scored on the assist from Carosella in the 81
stminute as Romero ended the scoring for Life U in the 84
thminute with the assist from Velasquez. The Running Eagles moved to .500 in Mid-South play with the 7-0 victory over Georgetown.
