No. 5 Women's Wrestling Falls to Emmanuel in Road Dual

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. ----The No. 5 nationally ranked Life University women's wrestling team fell on the road by a narrow 25-20 margin Wednesday night at Emmanuel College in the non-conference dual.

Sierra Powell saw significant improvement in her par terre work and scoring with her leg lace. Powell earned a 14-4 technical fall victory to give the Running Eagles four points.
Erica Sotelo increased her attack rate in the second period which led to the technical fall (12-2) for an additional four points.
Stephanie Pantoja saw her offense open up and increase her attack rate which led to a dominating finish in a 10-0 technical fall.

"As always, we look for the growth in each position. Our women did well in defending positions they previously struggled with when we wrestled this team in October," stated head coach
Ashley Sword. "They also showed greater confidence in their own offense and took better control during the matches. We will go back tomorrow to tweak things again and face this team again on Saturday, as we look to capitalize on positions that we improve."

The women's wrestling team will return to action on Friday, November 30 when they travel to the University of the Cumberlands for the Patriot Duals that will end on Saturday, December 1.Â
