MOUNT VERNON, Ga. ---- The Life University women's basketball team defeated Brewton-Parker College 80-75 Saturday afternoon in a road match as the Running Eagles outscored the Barons 31-17 in the third quarter.
NOTES
• Life U improved to 8-2 on the year, while Brewton-Parker fell to 6-4.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS

Naomi House led the way for the Running Eagles with 23 points. She also had five rebounds with an assist and a steal as she was 8-for-12 from the field.

Diamond Atkins,
Shikiya Brown and
Tierra Tullis each picked up 10 points to finish in double digits. Atkins and Brown each picked up four rebounds as Tullis added four assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Five minutes into the first quarter, Brewton-Parker jumped out to an 8-2 lead after a 6-0 run, however the Running Eagles responded with a three from Brown just outside the one-minute mark, which gave Life U a one-point lead, 9-8.
• Brewton-Parker finished the quarter on a 6-0 run to lead 14-9 after the first ten minutes of play.
• Brewton-Parker continued to maintain a lead in the second quarter, however a pair of three's from Lawson just inside two minutes tied the game at 22.
• At the half, Brewton-Parker held a six-point lead, 31-25, over Life U.
• Life U began the third quarter with a 9-0 run as a layup from House in the paint two minutes in gave the Running Eagles a 33-31 lead.
• Brewton-Parker tied the game at 33 moments later, however the Running Eagles went on a 10-0 run that was finished with a three from Garnigan with 4:31 on the clock to lead 43-33.
• A pair of free-throws from House at the 1:56 mark gave Life U a game-high 13-point lead, 52-39, as the Running Eagles finished the third quarter ahead 56-48.
• Life U never trailed the remainder of the game as the Running Eagles went 7-for-8 from the charity stripe in the final minute to preserve the 80-75 victory over Brewton-Parker.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Life U finished 25-for-51 from the field, 49%, while Brewton-Parker shot 26-for-61, 42.6%.
• Life U shot 19-for-28, 67.9%, from the free-throw line as Brewton-Parker finished 18-for-29, 62.1%.
• Life U finished 11-for-16, 68.6% from behind the arc as Brewton-Parker was just 5-for-20, 25%.
