CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Life University (9-14, 1-8 MSC) fell 95-61to No. 3 Campbellsville (22-3, 8-1 MSC) on Thursday.
Four Running Eagles finished at or near double digits on the night. Junior
Sydney Garnigan paced the squad 13 points as well as seven rebounds, four assists and four steals. Sophomore
Tierra Lindsey put up 12 points with four rebounds. Senior
Kennesha Nichols added nine points with 14 rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block. Sophomore
Damiya Montgomery contributed nine points as well with a rebound and a steal.
They a game in which they never led, Life U managed to keep things close for most of the first quarter. After Campbellsville opened on a 9-2 run, the Running Eagles cut the lead to 9-4. That would be as close as they got as the Tigers went on an 11-4 to close out the opening period with a 20-8 lead. They picked up the pressure in the second quarter going up by 20 points at 39-19, and took a 41-25 lead into the half.
Campbellsville continued to control the flow of the game in the second half. They led 65-39 headed into the final 10 minutes. They went up by their largest lead of the game at 95-57 and finished with a 95-61 victory.
Life U will close out the three-game road trip on Saturday, Feb. 10 as they travel to Georgetown, Ky. to face off against Georgetown College.
