PIKEVILLE, Ky. - Top-seeded Shawnee State (Ohio) beat eighth-seeded Life University 111-49 today to advance in the Mid-South Conference Women's Basketball Tournament at the Eastern Kentucky Exposition Center.

Shawnee State finished the first 20 minutes of the game shooting 63.9 percent (23-of-36) from the floor, including making nine of 15 shots from beyond the 3-point arc. The Bears finished the game shooting 58 percent (40-of-69), including 50 percent (15-of-30) from 3-point range.

Shawnee State's Shania Massie scored a game-high 30 points off the Bears' bench. Life U concludes its season with an 11-20 record.

"Today's game was a tough way to end the season," says Head Coach Anthony Maxwell. "Shawnee State is very good team, and they showed why they are No. 1 in the Country! We are young and never really got past a lot of beautiful mistakes for the season. I really feel for senior Kennesha Nichols (who was named first-team All Mid-South Conference) because that's a tough way to in your college career. We really showed tremendous growth from a year ago and will continue to get better!"
