Kansas City, MO - The Life University Running Eagles have earned a bid to the 2018 NAIA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament. The six-seeded Running Eagles will face the third-seed William Carey University (25-5) in the opening round on Wednesday, March 14 at 10:00 a.m. EST. 

Senior Undra Mitchem, a First-Team All Mid-South Conference (MSC) honoree, leads the Running Eagles in scoring, averaging 15.84 ppg. Senior Zach Landis, a Second-Team All-MSC honoree, is leading the Running Eagles in rebounds (9.29), assists (3.58) and steals (2.29) per game. William Carey, who ranks No. 10 in the final NAIA poll released this week, won the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament by defeating Dalton State 83-76 in the title game. William Carey is currently led by Troy Salvant, who enters the tournament averaging 16.6 ppg and shooting 42% from the field.

The MSC had an astounding six teams earn a bid to the national tournament. The MSC Regular-Season Champions University of Pikeville earned a one-seed, while Georgetown, Cumberlands, Lindsey Wilson and Campbellsville joined Life U in the field of 32.

The Running Eagles hope to match their 2017 championship run, where they made it to the National Championship final game where they fell to Texas Wesleyan.  

The NAIA Network (www.NAIANetwork.com) will broadcast the first 30 games leading up to the championship final on ESPN3.
