DAYTON, Tenn. ---- The Life University women's soccer team upset (RV) Bryan College 2-0 on the road Tuesday afternoon behind a pair of goals from
Isabel Solorzano-Sierra.
NOTES
• Bryan was receiving votes in the first edition of the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Solarzano-Sierra placed two perfect shots in the back of the net for her first two goals of the season. She also finished with a team-high three total shots.
• Both
Elin Josefsson and
Katelynn Harbeke assisted the two goals.

Josie Davis and Harbeke each picked up a shot on frame during the match.
• In her first start of the year,
Sydney Young earned the shutout in goal for Life. She finished with two saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Six minutes into the match, Davis had her first look at goal for Life U that required the Bryan keeper to make the save.
• In the 28
thminute, Life U looked to have another chance at goal with a free-kick from just outside the 18. The wall of defenders from Bryan denied the chance at goal to keep the score locked at zero.
• Cianchini had a shot on frame in the 34
thminute, but once again Bryan was able to keep the match scoreless. This was the last shot on frame from either team before the half with the score tied 0-0.
• Neither team had a multitude of chances in the second half, until Life U broke through the defense with a goal in the 77
thminute. Josefsson found Harbeke, who played a ball as Solorzano-Sierra lifted a curling shot from outside the 18 into the upper right corner of the goal to give the Running Eagles a 1-0 lead.
• 11 minutes later, Life U struck again. Josefsson won a key ball in the middle of the field and found Harbeke who played a through ball for Solarzano-Sierra who found the bottom right corner of the net to put the Running Eagles ahead 2-0.
• Young was not called upon in the remaining minutes to make a save, however the defensive efforts of Life U held on for the upset over Bryan 2-0.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Both teams finished with eight shots each, as Life U held the advantage over Bryan in shots on frame 5-2.
• Life U finished with two saves in the second half to preserve the clean sheet.
• Bryan led Life U 5-3 in corner kicks.
UP NEXT
• The Running Eagles will return to action on Saturday, September 1, when they travel to Montreat, N.C. to compete in the Montreat Labor Day Invite. The team will face Truett McConnell on Saturday with a 4:30 PM start time.
