MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life University women's volleyball team fell to (RV) Campbellsville University in Mid-South Conference action 3-0 Thursday night.
NOTES
• Life U fell to 6-14 (1-2) overall, while Campbellsville improved to 10-3 (3-1).
• Campbellsville was listed as receiving votes in the second edition of the NAIA Women's Volleyball Coaches' Top 25 Poll.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
•
Liz Mann earned a double-double on a team-high 12 kills with 10 digs. She also added a block.
•
Chelsea Hill finished with eight kills as
Taylor Parrish totaled 27 assists.
•
Alia Dorland picked up a team-high 12 digs as
Marin Black picked up 10.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Campbellsville led 8-7 early in set one, and used an 8-3 run to lead by six, 16-10.
• Life U cut the lead to three, 17-14, with a kill from Mann, however Campbellsville maintained the advantage to take the first set 25-17.
• Life U had an early 8-7 lead over Campbellsville in set two after a kill from Ferran. Both teams traded leads as a 4-0 Life U run gave the Running Eagles a 17-14 lead.
• An 8-1 Campbellsville run gave the Tigers a 22-18 lead. Campbellsville won the second set with a final score of 25-20.
• Campbellsville jumped out to an early 7-0 lead in the third set before a Life U timeout. The Tigers extended the lead to nine, 12-3, shortly after the break. A 5-0 run from the Running Eagles narrowed the deficit to a 12-8 margin, but Campbellsville responded to lead by nine again, 20-11. The two teams traded points, however the early lead for Campbellsville proved to be too great as Life U fell in the third set 25-18, and in the match 3-0.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Campbellsville led Life U in kills 39-28. Life U had a hitting percentage of 0.63 and Campbellsville finished with a .189.
• Life U committed 21 errors to the 18 from Campbellsville.
• Life U held an 8-7 advantage in blocks over Campbellsville.
