Men's Soccer Takes Road Victory over Martin Methodist

PULASKI, Tenn. ---- The Life University men's soccer team won its second game in a row on the road over Martin Methodist College 2-0 Saturday night.  
 
NOTES
Javi Romero was involved with both goals as he picked up two assists.
 
STANDOUT PERFORMERS 
Steinar Magnusson scored the first goal of the match in the 12thminute for the second consecutive match.
Wessley Soronellas also scored in his second consecutive match this evening in the 25thminute.
• Romero assisted both goals as Eddy Diaz also picked up an assist on the first goal. Fabian Pekruhl improved to 1-0 on the year with the shutout in his first career start in goal. 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED 
• 12 minutes into the match, Magnusson put Life U ahead 1-0 with an assist from Diaz and Romero.
• 13 minutes later, Soronellas found the back of the net for the Running Eagles with the assist from Romero to give Life U an early 2-0 lead. 
• Martin Methodist had three chances on frame in the remainder of the first half but were unable to score as Pekruhl kept the clean sheet intact. Life U led 2-0 at the break.
• Neither offense was very active in the second half, however Pekruhl picked up three saves to preserve the shutout.
• Life U defended well with no shots on frame in the second half, however the Running Eagles held on for the 2-0 road win over the Redhawks.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Martin Methodist outshot Life U 14-10 during the match.
• Life U tallied four shots on frame, while Martin Methodist finished with six.
• Life U held a 6-2 advantage in saves during the match. 
 
UP NEXT 
• The men's soccer team will return to action on Thursday, September 13, when they host Southeastern University at 7 PM.
