MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life University women's soccer team traveled over the weekend for a pair of Mid-South Conference contests. The Running Eagles were unable to find their first win of the season falling 2-0 to Thomas More University and 3-0 to Georgetown College.
The team began the road trip at Thomas More, but were outshot 21-2 in the contest. The Saints scored in the 17th minute of the match and again late in the second half at the 83rd minute.
Allyse Roberts and
Annaliese Froese tallied the only shots as
Julia Vila Punset recorded eight saves in goal.
Saturday, the team traveled to Georgetown to end the road trip. Despite outshooting the Tigers 8-7 in the second half, the Running Eagles were unable to find the back of the net in the 3-0 loss. Vila Punset again recorded eight saves in goal as
Alexandra Collighan led the team in total shots with six and shots on frame with three.
Zoe Hagan and
Sarah Slingluff each tallied two shots on frame.
The women's soccer team will return to action on Monday, October 14, when they travel to Lawrenceville, Ga. to face No. 18 nationally ranked Georgia Gwinnett at 7 PM.
