MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The (RV) Life University men's basketball team improved to 8-0 on the year with a 63-52 home win over Carver College Thursday night.
NOTES

Antwan Maxwell picked up his sixth double-double of the year with a team-high 20 points and 10 boards. He added two blocks to give him 21 on the year. Nationally, he ranks number one in total rebounds with 86.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
•
Malik Burnett added 18 points on the night with a pair of steals and four assists.
•
Jeremy Joyner also picked up a double-double on 11 points and 10 boards with a pair of blocks.
•
Cam Horton finished with nine as he tallied a pair of assists with three steals and a block.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Five minutes into the game, Life U held a 9-4 lead after a layup from Burnett in the paint.
• Carver finished a 7-0 run to lead 13-12 at the 11:58 mark.
• Life U responded to take back the lead 17-13 with a layup from Joyner in the paint a minute later, however Carver responded to lead 24-20 with 7:23 left in the half.
• Life U finished the half on a 7-3 run as the score was tied at 27 heading into the break.
• Carver started the second half on a 5-0 run, however a 7-0 Life U run was finished on another two from Joyner in the paint to give the Running Eagles a 34-32 lead with 16:10 on the clock.
• Carver took a late 44-43 lead after a successful and-one opportunity with 8:28 left in the game.
• Life U responded with a 13-2 run that was finished with a jumper from Maxwell to seal the game ahead 56-46 with 4:06 on the clock. Life U finished the game 5-for-6 from the free-throw line to seal the 63-52 win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Life U finished 23-for-55 from the field, 41.8%, while Carver shot 19-for-68, 27.9%.
• Life U shot 11-for-19, 57.9%, from the free-throw line as Carver finished 10-for-12, 83.3%.
• Life U scored 32 points in the paint and finished 6-for-22 (27.3%) from beyond the arc.
