MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life University men's volleyball team swept Warner University 3-0 Thursday Night to improve to 4-0 in Mid-South Conference Play.
NOTES
• Life U improved to 8-1 (4-0), while Warner fell to 2-1 (2-1).
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
•
Alejandro Gonzalez led the way for the Running Eagles offensively with 14 kills and an attacking percentage of 33.3%.
•
Allain Larroche added 33 assists with two service aces.
•
Livan Moreno finished with a team-high 10 digs and added nine kills with two service aces.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Early in set one, Warner led 12-10, however Life U responded with three straight points as Moreno recorded the ace to lead 13-12.
• The Royals regained the lead 15-14, before an 8-2 run put the Running Eagles ahead 22-17 after the kill from Moreno.
• Warner cut the lead to one late in the set, 23-22, however back-to-back kills from Gonzalez finished the set in favor of Life U 25-22.
• Life U never trailed in set two as the Running Eagles led 10-7 early after an ace from Larroche.
• The two teams traded points in the middle of the set, however Life U took the second set with an 8-2 run that was again finished with a kill from Gonzalez to win 25-16.
• Warner jumped out to an early 3-1 lead in set three, however Life U went on its largest run of the match with a 9-1 showing that was finished on a block by Perez and Serrano to give the Running Eagles a 10-4 advantage.
• Warner used a 5-0 run to cut the lead to two, 14-12, but Life U used a late 5-1 run that was finished by Moreno to lead 24-18 on match point.
• A service error ended the match as the Running Eagles took the third set 25-20.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Life U led Warner in kills 38-29. Life U finished with a hitting percentage of .250 as Warner finished with a .117.
• Life U led Warner in digs 41-37.
• Life U held a slight 9-7 advantage over Warner in blocks.
• Life U finished with a 34-26 advantage in assists over Warner as well
