LAKE WALES, Fla. ---- The Life University men's volleyball team picked up its ninth Mid-South Conference sweep over Warner University Friday night on the road.
NOTES
• Life U improved to 14-2 (9-1), while Warner fell to 6-5.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
•
Livan Moreno led the way offensively for the Running Eagles with 10 kills and added eight digs.
•
Javier Cornier tallied four block assists and a solo block with three kills and three digs.
•
Allain Larroche picked up three service aces and tallied 28 assists in the match.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Life U jumped out to an early 10-3 lead in set one with a kill from Serrano. Warner used a late 6-1 run to take a 16-15 lead.
• Trailing 21-20, Life U finished the set on a 5-2 run as Serrano recorded the final kill to give the Running Eagles the 25-22 set one win.
• Warner led 4-3 early in set one, and the Royals extended their lead to 9-7 before Life U went on an 9-2 run that was finished with a block from Serrano to lead 16-11. A service error from Warner ended the set 25-18 in favor of Life U.
• Life U jumped out to a 10-6 lead early in set three. A 9-1 run put the Running Eagles ahead 23-12 as Moreno recorded the final kill for the sweep with a 25-16 margin in set three.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Life U led Warner in kills 32-30. Life U finished with a hitting percentage of .220 as Warner finished with a .077.
• Life U also led Warner in blocks 9-3.
• Life U finished with a 30-28 advantage in assists over Warner as well with the Running Eagles recording all six aces in the match.
