Women's Lacrosse Falls to No. 1 SCAD at Home

MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life University women's lacrosse team fell to the No. 1 nationally ranked and back-to-back NAIA National Champions SCAD-Savannah Thursday night 28-4 at home.
 
NOTES
• Life U fell to 6-6 on the year, as SCAD improved to 11-1.
 
STANDOUT PERFORMERS 
• Sarah Bader led the way offensively for the Running Eagles with two goals and an assist.
• Darion Eagen and Lyndsey Kallish each added a goal as well.
• Bridgett Simmer and Eagen tallied three ground balls as Maria Arvizu picked up two draw controls.  
 
HOW IT HAPPENED 
• SCAD jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the first four minutes of the game, as a goal from Bader in the 5th minute brought the score line to 5-1.
• SCAD added four more before Bader found her second goal of the game in the 11th minute.
• Kallish scored her lone goal of the match with an assist from Bader with 13:09 on the clock for Life U, as SCAD took a 16-3 lead into the half.  
• Eagen provided the only offense for Life U in the second half with a goal with 18:40 remaining in the game. SCAD continued the offensive pressure to earn the 28-4 victory.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Life U finished with nine total shots as seven were on frame. SCAD tallied 47 shots with 37 on frame.
• Life U held a 9-3 advantage over SCAD in saves.
• Life U was 9-of-19 on clears during the game as SCAD finished 17-of-19.
• SCAD committed 23 turnovers in the game as Life U finished with 28.
• Life U picked up 18 ground balls compared to the 26 from SCAD. SCAD led Life U 27-7 in draw controls throughout the game.
 
UP NEXT 
• The women's lacrosse team will return to Mid-South Conference play on Saturday, April 13, as they travel to Indianapolis, Ind. to face No. 5 Marian University at 1 PM.
