Women's Lacrosse Finishes Inaugural Season at MSC Tournament

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. ---- The No. 6 seeded Life University women's lacrosse team fell to No. 5 nationally ranked and No. 3 seeded Marian University 23-5 Thursday afternoon in the Mid-South Conference Tournament.
 
NOTES
• Life U finishes its inaugural season 7-8, as Marian improved to 13-3.
 
STANDOUT PERFORMERS 
• Skylar Clum recorded a team-high four ground balls with two caused turnovers and a goal.
• Lauren Rielly added a goal and an assist with four draw controls.
• Lyndsey Kallish, Darion Eagen and Sandy Le rounded out the scoring for Life U.   .  
 
HOW IT HAPPENED 
• Marian jumped out to an early 4-0 run in the first five minutes of play, however Rielly scored in the nineth minute to cut the lead to three.
• Marian responded with three unanswered to lead 7-1. Before Eagen found the back of the net at the halfway mark of the first half.
• Another 3-0 run put the Knights ahead 10-2. Kallish and Le each scored in the final seven minutes of the half, however Marian took a 14-4 lead into the locker rooms with a goal two seconds before the buzzer.
• Clum provided the only offense for Life U in the second half with a goal in the 57th minute of the match. Marian scored nine goals in the second half to advance in the tournament on the 23-5 victory.

• Life U finished with 23 total shots as 13 were on frame. Marian tallied 43 shots with 33 on frame.
• Life U held a 10-8 advantage over Marian in saves.
• Life U was 13-of-27 on clears during the game as Marian finished 11-of-16.
• Marian committed 23 turnovers in the game as Life U finished with 25.
• Life U picked up 20 ground balls compared to the 26 from Marian. Marian led Life U 20-8 in draw controls throughout the game.
