Running Eagles Claim Victory in Mid-South Matchup with Campbellsville

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. ---- The Life University women's volleyball team defeated the Campbellsville University Tigers 3-1 in Mid-South Conference play.

NOTES
• Life U improved to 9-4, while Campbellsville falls to 10-5 on the year.
• Life U bested the Tigers in every statistical category except aces.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS 
• Zykeria Allen led in kills with 21, followed by Mary Zimmerman and Lena Pucnik with 16 and 12.
• Marin Black emerged with 3 aces; on the defensive, she tallied 19 digs for the Running Eagles. O'Haver and Dorland totaled up with 13 and 9 digs respectively.
•  Morgan Furness totaled 4 blocks.
• Taylor Parrish totaled 48 assists in the match.  

HOW IT HAPPENED 
• The Running Eagles and Tigers stayed in close competition in the first set. Campbellsville took a three point lead after two attack errors from Allen and a service ace from the Tigers' Jamie Thompson. Campbellsville was able to capitalize off of attack errors and close out the first set 19-25.
• Life U took a 8-3 lead early on, a kill by Mary Zimmerman, assisted by Taylor Parrish improved the score 11-4. The Running Eagles took a commanding lead, closing out the second set 25-10.
• Life U took a lead in the third set, Campbellsville looked to catch up with a score of 6-7, in favor of the Running Eagles. Nearing the end of the set, Campbellsville caught up to Life after four points resulting from services aces and attack errors from the Running Eagles. Life came out on top 25-21.
• The fourth set was in favor of Campbellsville, taking an early lead of 4-0. The set would go back and fourth before Life would take a formidable lead after a kill from Mary Zimmerman. The Running Eagles would close the match after an attack error from Campbellsville. 
 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Life U outmatched Campbellsville in kills 50-48. Life U finished with a hitting percentage of .307, Campbellsville finished with a percentage of .121.
• The Running Eagles bested the Tigers in digs with 68 to 56.
• Life U finished with 3 aces, Campbellsville would finish with 7.
