COLUMBIA, Ky. ---- For the first time in program history, the Life University women's volleyball team took down No. 10 nationally ranked Lindsey Wilson 3-2 Friday night in Mid-South Conference action.
NOTES
• Life U improved to 10-4 (2-1) on the year, as Lindsey Wilson fell to 9-3 (3-1).
• The win over a top-10 opponent also marked a program benchmark.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS

Zykeria Allen led the way offensively for the Running Eagles with a match-high 23 kills. She added 18 digs and hit .291.
•
Mary Zimmerman added 19 kills with a team-high seven blocks.
•
Marin Black totaled 18 digs as
Alia Dorland (12) and
Michele O'Haver (11) also finished in double figures.
•
Taylor Parrish totaled 56 assists in the match.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Lindsey Wilson held an early 8-6 lead in set one, before a short 3-0 run from Life U was finished on an ace from Pucnik to lead 9-8. Both teams battled for the lead, but a 5-1 Lindsey Wilson lead gave the Blue Raiders a 16-12 advantage. Trailing 23-18, a late 5-0 Life U run tied the set at 23 with a pair of kills from Zimmerman. Lindsey Wilson was able to finish the first set ahead 25-23.
• Set two played back and forth as well as Lindsey Wilson held a 12-10 lead after a block. A quick 4-0 run gave the Running Eagles a 14-12 lead, but the Blue Raiders quickly tied the set. Life U led 23-22 after a kill from Zimmerman, but Lindsey Wilson finished the set on a 3-0 run to win 25-22.
• Life U jumped out to an early 7-1 lead in set three. Lindsey Wilson brought the match to one 13-12, before a 5-2 Life U run extended the lead to four, 18-14. Life U finished the set on a 5-2 run to win 25-19.
• Life U led 7-6 early in set four, however Lindsey Wilson responded with a 5-0 run to lead 11-7. The Running Eagles went on a 5-1 run that was finished on a kill by Allen to tie the set. Both teams battled back and forth, however Lindsey Wilson used a late 5-0 run to lead 23-20. Life U refused to lose as the Running Eagles put together a 5-0 run with back-to-back kills from Neal to win 25-23.
• Set five was in the balance as momentum shifted both ways, but Life U held an early 5-4 lead. The Running Eagles exploded on a 5-0 run to take a commanding 10-4 lead. An ace from Pucnik and kill from Allen put Life U at match point ahead 14-7. Lindsey Wilson responded with four in a row, but Allen sealed the upset with a kill to give Life U the signature win 15-11.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Life U led Lindsey Wilson in kills 68-56. Life U finished with a hitting percentage of .225 as Faulkner finished with a .174.
• Life U also led Lindsey Wilson in aces 13-5 and assists 65-49.
• Life U finished with a 10-9 advantage over Lindsey Wilson in blocks.
