MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life University women's soccer team dropped a narrow 1-0 decision to (RV) Tennessee Wesleyan University Saturday night.
NOTES
• Life U fell to 0-4 as Tennessee Wesleyan improved to 2-1 on the year.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
•
Sarah Slingluff finished with a team-high five shots with four on frame.
• Bernhardt totaled five saves in goal for the Running Eagles.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• 14 minutes into the match, Tennessee Wesleyan scored the lone goal of the match to take an early 1-0 lead.
• Slingluff put a shot on frame in the 23
rd minute as Life U had two chances before the half that required a save from the Tennessee Wesleyan Keeper.
• Despite three shots on frame in the first half, Life U trailed 1-0 at the break.
• Life U added two additional shots on frame in the second half, with Slingluff nearly finding the equalizer with three seconds in regulation on a free-kick. Tennessee Wesleyan held on to win the match 1-0.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Tennessee Wesleyan led Life U in shots 12-8, but both teams finished with six shots on frame.
• Life U led Tennessee Wesleyan 2-0 in corner kicks throughout the match.
