MARIETTA, GA — The Running Eagles Men's Basketball Team met Thomas More for the first time in Mid-South play. The game would be low scoring, with the final score being 56-47 in favor to the visiting Saints. 

In the first half, the Running Eagles would start out with a three-pointer from Freshman, Jordan Hernandez. The Men would not maintain a lead for long, as the Saints would take a modest lead of 10-7 at the 15-minute mark. The Running Eagles would battle for a lead throughout the first half before succumbing Thomas More's defense.

The Saints would overwhelm Anthony Maxwell and Jeremy Joyner in the post. However, Joyner would be able to draw fouls and sent to the line. They would shoot 40 percent from the charity line in the first half. Efforts would come from Hernandez, who would lead in scoring at the end of the first half. 

The second half would come to a slow start, as both teams would not score for the first four minutes. The score margin would stay within single digits, however the challenge would be the shot clock for both Life U and Thomas More. The Running Eagles and the Saints would struggle to get a shot off, letting the shot clock dwindle to an average of seven seconds. 

The Men would look to cut down the lead, but were unsuccessful. Thomas More would keep their lead until the last seconds of the game. Score leaders in the second half would come from Joyner, with 11 points, and 13 total. Maxwell would tally up 11 boards for Life U. 

Standout performances would also come from Cam Horton, who finished with 12 points, and a steal. Jordan Hernandez would finish with seven points and three assists for the Running Eagles.
