Game Recap: Women's Basketball | | Baigen Seawell

Women's Basketball Downed by No. 2 Campbellsville

CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY. — The Women traveled to Campbellsville Thursday to take on the Tigers. This result was different than their previous meeting.

The Running Eagles met Campbellsvile on 1/6, who were, at the time ranked No. 1 in the Country. They would give the Tigers a bit of competition, playing them down to the wire.

However, this away meeting was opposite of the meeting in early January.

Out of the gate, the women would be out battled from the jump ball. A slew of steals would give Campbellsville a 11-2 lead at the halfway mark in the first quarter. The Running Eagles would total 24 turnovers to Campbellsville's nine in the first half alone. Tierra Lindsey would lead in scoring, with nine points at the end of the first half.

Campbellsville would continue to run up the score; by the end of the first, Life U would be down by 25. They would shoot 66.7% from the line and 52% from the field. The Running Eagles would be outscored and outmatched in the following third quarter.

There were defensive glimmers, with a steal from Kiara Glenn and Shikiya Brown in the fourth quarter. However, the Tigers would win 98-61.

The Women would score 44 points in the paint, and 21 points off of turnovers, while Campbellsville would score 52 in the paint and 42 points off of turnovers. The Running Eagles would score 13 second chance points, outscoring Campbellsville by two in that statistical category.

The Efforts were contributed from Lindsey, who scored 11 points and tallied three steals. Maeisha Teasley totaled 10 points, but had only one steal for the night. Sydni Tears nearly acquired a double-double with 10 points and seven rebounds.
