MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life University men's basketball team fell to the Campbellsville Tigers 49-69 Monday evening in the Eagle's Nest.
NOTES
• Life U fell to 10-7 and 1-3 in the Mid South, while Campbellsville moves up to 12-5 and 2-3 in the conference.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Jeremy Joyner acquired a double-double, finishing with 16 points and 12 rebounds.
• Jordan Hernandez tallied 13 points and three boards for the Running Eagles
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The first half was off to a slow start with the score being 2-2 for the first four minutes of the game.
• The Tigers would extend their lead to 13-6 at the halfway mark in the first half. The Running Eagles would not hit double digits until the three minute mark of the first half.
• Life U would close out the first half with a two-pointer from Jordan Hernandez.
• Campbellsville would extend the lead to 38 three minutes into the second half. The Running Eagles would battle to close the deficit throughout the half.
• Hernandez would sink a three-pointer at 5:31, closing the score to 61-39.
• The Tigers would lead by as much as 29 points, but would close the game at 69-49 with a three-pointer from Kevin Wirth in the final seconds of the game.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Life U finished 35.8% from field goal range, while Campbellsville finished 51%
• Life U finished with 9 second chance points over the Tigers 6.
• The Running Eagles and the Tigers both finished 50% at the charity line.
