MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life University women's soccer team came from behind to defeat Carolina University 2-1 in the 2020 home opener Friday night.
NOTES
• Life U improves to 2-0 on the year.
• Life U scored both of its goals in the final ten minutes to earn the victory.

Emily Hounsell picked up her second consecutive win in goal.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS

Zoe Hagan provided the game-winner and finished with a pair of shots on frame.
•
Mathilde Sletner added the first home goal for Life U and finished with a team-high five shots.
•
Daniela Cianchini picked up a pair of assists during the game to bring her total to two on the year.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Neither team was able to score in the first half as the Running Eagles dominated the shot total 7-1.
• At the half, the score remained 0-0 with neither team tallying a shot on goal.
• Eight minutes into the second half, Carolina won a free-kick just outside the box and a scramble in the penalty area resulted in the Bruins taking a 1-0 lead.
• Life U persisted and eventually broke through in the 82
nd minute as Sletner scored on the cross from Cianchini to tie the match.
• Life U earned a corner as Cianchini swung the cross into the box in the 84
th minute. Hagan was waiting and the half volley beat the Bruin keeper to give Life U a 2-1 come from behind victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Life U dominated the shot count over Carolina 15-3. The Running Eagles finished with six shots on frame to the two from the Bruins.
• The Carolina keeper finished with four saves as Hounsell finished with one.
• Life U also held the advantage in corner kicks 9-1 over Carolina.
