MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life University women's basketball team dropped a 70-54 road Mid-South Conference game to Georgetown College Thursday night.
NOTES
• Life U fell to 2-8 (0-7) on the year, while Georgetown improved to 3-6 (2-5).
STANDOUT PERFORMERS

Syndi Tears put together another incredible performance playing all 40 minutes and adding a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds.

Leetoria Dorsey picked up a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• After a slow-moving opening to the game, Life U held a 5-0 lead over Georgetown with a three from McBride. Georgetown responded immediately to knot the game at five after five minutes of play. Neither offense could find its stride, however a three at the last second gave Georgetown a 14-12 lead heading into the second quarter.
• Lee put the Running Eagles ahead to start the second with a three 43 seconds into the quarter. A jumper from Daphney at the 6:53 mark gave Life U the 17-16 advantage. The Tigers opened up offensively with a 13-3 run to lead 29-20 with 3:05 left. Georgetown led 36-27 at the half.
• The Running Eagles came out sprinting in the third quarter as a 13-4 run was finished with a three from Tears to give Life U the 41-40 lead with 2:19 in the quarter. The two teams jockeyed for position in the final moments of the third as a late free-throw gave the Tigers just a one-point advantage, 44-43, heading into the final quarter.
• Despite the fight throughout the game, the Running Eagles offense slowed down to its lowest points total in the fourth managing 11 points. The Tigers had their mots productive quarter with 26 to earn the 70-54 win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Life U finished 18-for-61, 29.5% from the field, while the Tigers shot 25-for-73, 34.2%. The Running Eagles finished 4-for-22 (18.2%) from beyond the arc, as the Tigers went 8-for-22 (36.4%).
• Life U was out rebounded by Georgetown 55-44, with the Tigers registering 17 points off put backs.

• The women's basketball team will return to action on Thursday, January 21, as they travel to Pikeville, Ky. to face Pikeville at 5:30 PM and continue Mid-South Conference play.
