MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The No. 13 nationally ranked Life University men's volleyball team opened the 2021 season at home with a dominant 3-0 win over Carolina University Friday night.
NOTES
• Life U improved to 1-0 on the year, while Carolina fell to 0-2.
• The Running Eagles totaled a team hitting percentage of .673 while limiting the Bruins to a -.078.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
•
Ryan Ollie led the way for the Running Eagles with 11 kills and was a perfect 11-for-11. He added three block assists and a solo block.

Javier De Leon totaled four digs as both
Javier Cornier and
Alex Cabana totaled three service aces.
• Cornier added a team-high 25 assists as Cabana totaled four block assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Life U never trailed the entire match as they started quickly in the first set jumping out to a 12-5 lead off the attack error from Carolina. An 8-1 run in the middle of the set was finished with an ace from Cabana to put the Running Eagles up 22-8. Llaneza finished the set with a kill 25-11.
• Life U jumped out in set two to a 17-10 lead after the kill from Ollie. A 7-2 run from the Bruins cut the lead to two, 19-17. Life U ended the comeback chance with six straight points as Triana recorded the final kill, 25-17.
• Life U dominated the third set earning the set and match with a 25-9 victory.

• Life U dominated Carolina in kills 38-13. Life U finished with a hitting percentage of .673 as Carolina finished with a -.078.
• Life U led Carolina in aces 13-2, and in blocks 6-0.
• Life U also finished ahead of Faulkner in digs 19-9 and assists 35-13.
