Men's Basketball Drops Low Scoring Affair to Cumberlands 69-53

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. ---- The Life University men's basketball team's offensive woes continued Saturday afternoon as they fell to (RV) the University of the Cumberlands 53-69 in Mid-South Conference action.

NOTES
• Life U fell to 6-5 (2-5) on the year, while Cumberlands improved to 14-5 (7-5).

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
Cam Horton led the Running Eagles offensively with 12 points and six rebounds.
Isaiah Hart was the only other Running Eagle to finish in double figures with 11 points and six rebounds as well.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Just over five minutes into the game, a three from Hart tied the game at eight. Kelly worked hard underneath for two as the Running Eagles remained playing catchup to cut the Patriot lead to four, 18-14.
• Trailing 25-17 with 6:25 remaining in the first half, Life U used a 5-0 run over the next three minutes to cut the lead to three. The Patriots scored the final bucket of the half with a three to lead 36-27 at the break.
• Cumberlands started the second half with a 10-5 run to lead by 14, 46-32, after four minutes of action. Trailing by 18, 34-52, with 12:45 on the clock, Life U finally found some offensive production with a 13-0 run to cut the lead to five after a jumper from Ferrell, 52-47, with 7:45 left in the game.
• The Patriots answered immediately with a 15-3 run to take a 67-50 advantage with just under two minutes left in the game. The old fashioned three-point play from Ferrell would be the only offensive production from the Running Eagles down the stretch as Cumberlands earned the 69-53 win.
