No. 10 Women's Volleyball Secure Undefeated Home Record with 3-0 Sweep of Bethel

MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The No. 10 nationally ranked Life University women's volleyball team secured an 11-0 record at home with a 3-0 sweep over Bethel University Tuesday night.

The Running Eagles finish the season a perfect 11-0 in home matches for the 2021 season and extend the win streak to 20 games. For the second time this year, Life U defeated Bethel in three straight sets 25-12, 25-15 and 25-18 for the 14th Mid-South Conference win of the year.

The Running Eagles dominated the box in every statistical category. They tallied 38 kills and a .297 hitting percentage as they limited the Wildcats to 21 kills and a .011 hitting percentage. Life U also led 10-2 in service aces, 8-1 in blocks, 35-19 in assists and 44-35 in digs.

Individually, Lena Pucnik led the way offensively with 11 kills and a .360 hitting percentage with a service ace, two block assists and nine digs. Mary Zimmerman finished the match with 10 kills and an .833 hitting percentage with four block assists. Jessie Prichard added 32 assists with three service aces, two solo blocks and two block assists with five digs. Fayola Louis added seven kills and a .294 hitting percentage with a pair of block assists. Marin Black added three service aces with a match-high 17 digs defensively.

The women's volleyball team will return to action on Friday, November 5, when they travel to Crestview Hills, Ky. when they face Thomas More University at 6 PM. The Saints enter the match as the number two team in the MSC, and a win for the Running Eagles would clinch their first ever MSC regular season title.
