MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The 13th-ranked Life University men's volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 victory tonight versus conference foe Webber International in the Eagles' Nest.
NOTES
• Life U improved to 6-0 (3-0) on the year with the win, while Webber International falls to 2-4 (0-1).
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
•
Felipe Gonzalez played with aggression on the attack, leading all players with a game high 12 kills on a good .364 kill percentage.
•
Nevin Johnson was everywhere, posting a double-double with 11 kills and 12 digs.
•
Javier Cornier tallied 34 assists and three kills on the night to go with his six digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Running Eagles jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead to start the game, but the Warriors came charging back to make the first set a back and forth affair. The teams traded leads until at 24-23, Webber International sat a single point away from taking the first set. Life U took the final three volleys to win the first set,

Ryan Ollie combining on a block to end the set 26-24.
• Life U found itself down 8-6 early in the second, but Cornier got Life U started on a 5-0 run as the team exerted its dominance over the game. With breathing room created, the team continued to pull away, putting up a lopsided 25-15 final in the second set.
• Life U got off to a quick start in the final set, 4-0 and 5-0 runs in the early portion of the third saw the team take a strong 12-5 lead. Two straight kills by Gonzalez set the team up in good position to end the match with a 20-11 lead. After Webber International made a run to shorten the lead, Cornier set up Ollie for a kill to end the set 25-22 and match 3-0.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Life U had a clear advantage in kills, leading Webber International 46-29 with the kills coming on a .267 percentage compared to the Warriors' .156.
• Life U possessed the edge in the majority of the remaining stats, leading 3-2 in aces, 38-25 in assists, and 44-30 in digs. The team tied at eight each in blocks.
• The Running Eagles committed more attacking errors, earning 19 to Webber International's 15.
