CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. ---- The Men's Soccer team went into the second half tied at two with Campbellsville, but could not keep up in the second half, falling 4-2 on the road this evening in Mid-South Conference play.
NOTES
• Tuesday evening's game saw Life U fall to 1-4 (0-3) with the loss, while Campbellsville improved to 7-1 (2-0).
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
•
Jelle De Graaf had a strong performance, recording a goal off of only two shots (both of which were on goal) while assisting the other team's other goal.
•
Zidane Bogle scored the other goal of the game, while attempting five shots.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Life U struck first in the game, De Graaf scoring converting a penalty kick into a 1-0 lead at the 13:15 mark. Campbellsville quickly responded with a penalty kick goal of their own not even a full minute later to knot the game up, before posting yet another goal another minute later to take a 2-1 lead. With only five minutes left in the first half, Bogle booted in a ball from De Graaf to see the team's go into the break tied 2-2.
• Neither team could take an advantage through the early portions of the second half, but the Tigers finally broke through for two goals in the final 20 minutes of the game to pull away for a 4-2 victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• The attempted shots were relatively close in the game Life U shooting 16 to Campbellsville's 21, with the Running Eagle's just behind on shots on goal at 9-7.
• The teams were knotted up at five in saves recorded
• The Running Eagles were called on many more fouls than the Tigers with the team being called for 15 and 4, respectively. Both yellow cards in the game were called against Life U
