MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life University women's volleyball team improved to 17-3 on the year with a 3-1 win over Faulkner in the Eagles' Nest Tuesday night.

Marin Black totaled a career-high 43 digs in the match.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
•
Lena Pucnik led the Running Eagles offensively and tallied a double-double with 17 kills and 16 digs.
•
Caitlyn Neal totaled 15 kills as Fayola Louis added 14.
Mary Zimmerman also finished in double figures for the Running Eagles with 11 kills and three block assists.
•
Kennedy Neal totaled 46 assists in the match with four digs and three kills.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Life U led 11-5 early in set one after the kill from Pucnik and the ace from Rivera. A 7-1 run was finished by Life U with the block from Zimmerman and Narvaez to lead 21-11. A block from Pucnik and Furness ended the set as Life U rolled to a 25-15 set one win.
• Both teams traded the lead throughout the second set, as a kill from C. Neal tied the set at 15. A late 5-2 run from Faulkner gave the Eagles a 21-18 lead. Life U cut the lead to one, 22-21, with the kill from Furness, however Faulkner finished the set on a 3-0 run with back-to-back blocks and a service ace, 25-21.
• Faulkner led 11-5 early in set three, but Life U answered with a 9-2 run that was finished with the kill from C. Neal to take the lead 14-13. A quick 3-1 run from the Eagles took back the lead 16-5, but a 4-1 run from Life U answered the call with Pucnik finding the floor with the kill to lead 19-17. Faulkner cut the lead late to one, 22-21, but kills from C. Neal and Louis ended the set for Life U ahead 25-21.
• Trailing 7-5 in the fourth set, Life U found its answer with a 7-1 run to lead by four, 12-8. Life U used an 8-1 run late in the set to lead 21-13 with the kill from Furness. A 9-2 Faulkner run brought the set to within one, 23-22, however Life U ended the match with kills from Pucnik and K. Neal to earn the 25-22 win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Life U led Faulkner in kills 68-39. Life U finished with a hitting percentage of .216 as Faulkner finished with a .107.
• Life U led Faulkner 64-35 in assists and 90-68 in digs.
• Life U edged Faulkner in aces 6-2, however Faulkner led 15-6 in blocks.
