CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. ---- The Men's Soccer team falls out of the Mid-South Conference Tournament with a 2-1 loss against second-seeded Lindsey Wilson in the quarterfinals hosted on the campus of Campbellsville.
NOTES
• Friday's conference tournament loss ends the team's season with a record of 7-8 (5-6), while Lindsey Wilson's season continues with a record of 9-2-2 (8-1-2).
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Life U felt pressure early in the game, as Lindsey Wilson controlled the early momentum, breaking through for the game's first goal in the 15th minute of the game. The Running Eagles' first attempted shot came at nearly the midpoint of the half, as the team struggled to put together good attacking opportunities. Neither team got another goal in through the remainder of the half, as the Blue Raiders took a 1-0 lead into the break.
• The Running Eagles found some opportunities in the second half, putting both of their two shots on goal up during the final 45 minutes, but could not find the back of the net. Lindsey Wilson created a little breathing room with 35:23 left in the game, and despite some good looks from Life U the game ended with the score still at 2-0 Lindsey Wilson.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Following Life U's improved second half performance the attempted shots were relatively close at 19-13, but the Blue Raiders had a strong advantage in shots on goal at 8-2.
• Life U had the edge in saves earned, the team putting together six to Lindsey Wilson's two.
• Life U trailed in corner kicks attempted, 6-3.
• The Running Eagles were called on two times as many fouls as the Blue Raiders with the team's getting 14 and 7, respectively, while Life U was also the only team awarded any yellow cards at four total.
