HOW IT HAPPENED
• Life U secured the victory in the first half of the game, coming out of the gates aggressively, taking the bulk of the shots through the opening minutes of the game. The Running Eagles took six shots before Reinhardt attempted its first in the 17th minute. A few minutes later, Kuiper got Life U on the scoreboard, recording a goal off a well placed Thora Hreggvidsdottir pass. In the final minutes of the half after a Estelle Caill corner kick, Brigand lined up for and succeeded on a penalty kick, pushing the team to a 2-0 lead.
• Life U played much more defensively in the second half, slowing things down to try and steer its way to its first victory over a ranked opponent in program history. As Reinhardt scrambled to get back into the game, Hounsell came up big in the clutch for Life U, grabbing six of her saves in the second frame. Reinhardt did manage to break through for a goal, but it came too late. The Eagle's score came with seconds to play, setting the final score as Life U came away with the 2-1 victory.
