Men's Soccer Bounces back with 1-0 Victory over SCAD-Savannah

MARIETTA, Ga. ---- Matteo Olivotto headed a shot in for a second half score as the Life University men's soccer team got back on track, defeating SCAD-Savannah 1-0 on a rainy day on the campus of KSU-Marietta.

NOTES
• Life U (2-2) jumps back to .500 on the season with the victory, while the Bees (2-1-3) record their first loss of the year.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• The lone Running Eagle score came from Olivotto, heading in the first game-winning-goal of his collegiate career.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Although there were no goals recorded in the first half, Life U players kept the ball on SCAD's side of the field the majority of the period, taking 12 shots to the Bee's two. Running Eagle players continuously found good looks at the net from the sides, but a physical defensive effort from SCAD saw the half end at 0-0.
• Just over 10 minutes into the second half, Life U posted the first and last score of the game. Wilfried Tchoupa Kamden made a nice, long pass from the left side to the front of the net where Luciano Diaz headed the ball to Olivotto with an open net in front of him. Olivotto's headed goal proved to be the game winner for the Running Eagles, the Bees making a late push to try and score, but the back line defenders stood strong to secure the 1-0 victory.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• The Running Eagles held a massive advantage in shots taken at 20-6, with a slightly smaller edge in shots on goal at 7-3.
• Life U also had a rather convincing lead in corner kicks taken with seven to SCAD's three.
• With the amount of shots taken, the Bees recorded much more saves with six to Life U's three.
